Participants will gain practical experience in building AI applications using OpenAI and Hugging Face APIs. Candidates will learn about tools like LangChain and vector databases such as FAISS and Chroma, design enterprise-level prompt engineering strategies, develop Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines, and also cover deploying intelligent systems in real-world settings and creating ethical, transparent, and explainable AI solutions.
“Building on the success of legacy AIML programme , which has trained and transformed thousands of professionals in advanced AI and machine learning, the launch of this Certificate Programme in Generative AI and Prompt Engineering marks a decisive step forward in creating a future-ready AI workforce,” the official IIIT Hyderabad press release said.
IIIT Hyderabad, TalentSprint partnership
According to the official IIIT Hyderabad press release, recent reports indicate that more than 78% of organisations worldwide are exploring or investing in generative AI (GenAI) technologies. Despite this growing interest, a notable skills gap persists, especially in areas like large language model (LLM) tooling, responsible AI development, and real-time system engineering, which highlights the shortage of professionals qualified to work with advanced AI systems.
The programme is backed by ML Lab at the Kohli Center on Intelligent Systems (KCIS), IIIT Hyderabad, a centre for cutting-edge AI research and innovation. It blends academic foundations with industry-focused learning, providing participants with practical, hands-on experience in building and deploying generative AI applications.
The director of IIIT-H Sandeep K Shukla said: “Generative AI represents one of the most transformative shifts in computing. Our curriculum goes beyond theory to offer participants deep insights into the GenAI stack; from prompt engineering to LangChain and vector databases. It empowers professionals to design, build, and deploy intelligent systems that drive real-world impact.”
