Jammu and Kashmir: All government, govt-aided, and recognised private schools across the valley will function between 10 am to 3:30 pm.
The directorate of school education in Kashmir has revised the timings for government, government-aided, and recognised private schools across the valley from November 1. All schools will function between 10 am to 3:30 pm.
According to an order issued by the Kashmir directorate, the revised timings for schools within the Srinagar municipality limits would be from 10 am to 3 pm from Saturday onwards.
For schools located outside Srinagar municipal limits, the new timings would be from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm, the order said. The directorate has directed all schools to follow the school timings strictly without any deviation.

JKBOSE 10th annual exams 2025
The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) will conduct the JKBOSE Class 10th annual exam 2025 from November 3 to 27. JKBOSE has also reduced the syllabus due to the delay in the academic session this year because of torrential rains, cloudbursts, and floods.
The board has decided to implement a 15% relaxation in Classes 10, 11, and 12. Students will have to attempt 85% of the question paper, which will be treated as equivalent to 100% of the marks, thereby giving 15% relaxation in the syllabus.
However, the question paper will be based on the full syllabus, but students will have to attempt questions worth only 85% of the total marks, as they will have internal choices in the paper.
