Education activities suspended amid heavy rainfall
Meanwhile, the state continues to deal with widespread damage caused by incessant rains. The ANI reported that the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an Orange alert for Mumbai, Thane, Palghar and Raigad, warning of heavy to very heavy rainfall. District authorities have also drawn up relocation plans for riverside villages vulnerable to flooding.
The Maharashtra government recently announced the closure of schools in several districts, including Palghar , Nanded , and Beed , following a red alert for heavy rainfall. A holiday was declared for Anganwadis, government and private primary and secondary schools, and Zilla Parishad institutions.
The Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) also postponed the Maharashtra Civil Services Combined Preliminary Examination 2025 to November 9, 2025, from the original date of September 28.
