Subscribe NowThe Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission (TNPSC) will conduct the TNPSC preliminary exam for group 2 posts tomorrow, September 28. Candidates will have to carry their TNPSC Group 2 admit card and a valid ID proof at the exam centre for verification purposes.
TNPSC Group 2 prelims exam 2025 will be held from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm.
TNPSC Group 2 Prelims 2025 exam includes three sections: Language, General Studies, Aptitude and Mental Ability Test. The paper will comprise 300 marks with 200 questions.
According to DT Next reports, a total of 5,53,634 have applied for the examination, comprising 2,12,495 males, 3,41,114 females, and 25 transgender candidates.
The exam will be conducted in 1,905 centres across Tamil Nadu, including 188 centres in Chennai, where 53,606 candidates are expected to appear.

TNPSC Group 2 Exam 2025: Guidelines
Candidates should make sure that they follow the instructions for the TNPSC Group 2 Prelims 2025 exam.
- Candidates are not allowed to bring a mobile phone, a pager, a camera, bluetooth, communication chips or any other equipment used as a communication device into the exam hall.
- Candidates are not allowed to bring non-electronic devices such as P&G Design data book, mathematical and drawing instruments, log tables, stencils of maps, slide rules, books, notes, loose sheets, guides, rough sheets, and handbags into the exam hall.
- If found with such things or instruments, they will not be allowed to write the exam, besides invalidation of the answer sheet and or rejection of candidature.
- If considered necessary, they will be subjected to a thorough physical search, including frisking on the spot.
- Candidates are advised not to bring any of the banned items, including mobile phones, to the venue of the examination, as arrangements for safekeeping of the same cannot be assured.
