NEW DELHI: The World University of Design (WUD), recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), has announced the commencement of admissions for its Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) programme in specialised fields including architecture, business, communication design, design, fashion, arts, and performing arts. The university invites applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply by June 15, 2024, via its official website, worlduniversityofdesign.ac.in.
The WUD PhD entrance exam 2024 is scheduled for June 29, 2024. Applicants can take the proctored online test from their homes using laptops. The university offers flexibility with both full-time and part-time options, allowing candidates to balance research with other responsibilities.
The eligibility criteria for PhD programmes include holding a master’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field. Exceptional candidates with bachelor's degrees may also be considered.
WUD PhD admission 2024 process
Admission into WUD's PhD programme involves a two-step process: a written examination and an interview. The entrance exam is a three-hour written paper testing research methodology basics, academic rigour, and creative thinking.
Applicants must submit a detailed statement of their proposed research project and/or a portfolio of creative works. This helps the admissions committee evaluate the research idea's originality and feasibility.
Sanjay Gupta, vice chancellor of WUD, stated, "At the World University of Design, we recognize the potential midcareer faculty members and design professionals bring to doctoral research. Our flexible programme structure, distinguished faculty, and state-of-the-art resources are designed to support and inspire you in this transformative journey."
