NEW DELHI: After conducting surprise inspections in 27 affiliated schools across Delhi and Rajasthan, the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has decided to withdraw affiliation of 21 schools and downgrade 6 schools for senior secondary to secondary level. The affiliation was withdrawn due to non-compliance with the guidelines of regular attendance of students in schools.

“The dummy or non-attending schools undermine educational integrity and issued show cause notices , allowing schools 30 days to respond. The vital observations of the Surprise Inspection Committees in regard of the irregularities observed during the inspections were communicated as a report to the respective schools,” the board said.
Based on the replies submitted by the school authorities, inspection findings, and video evidence, the CBSE Board announced its decision to withdraw affiliation of 21 schools due to significant numbers of non-attending students from classes 9 to 12. Six schools were downgraded from senior secondary to secondary level.
“The practice of dummy/ non-attending admissions contradicts the core mission of school education, compromising students' foundational growth,” it said.
“We are taking decisive action to combat the proliferation of dummy schools and send a clear message to all affiliated institutions to resist the lure of accepting dummy or non-attending admissions,” it added.
