Delhi ITIs record 72.3% placements; 10,700 students get jobs

ITI Placement 2024: ITI Vivek Vihar and ITI Dheerpur recorded the highest placements with students placed in Tata Group, Hero, LG, LnT companies.
NEW DELHI : The Industrial Institutes of Technology (ITIs) in Delhi recorded 72.3 percent placements this year. Of the 19 ITIs in the national capital, ITI Vivek Vihar and ITI Dheerpur recorded the highest placements with 97% and 94% students placed respectively.
Some of the companies in which the students of these ITIs have been placed include Hero, LG, LnT, Bharat Electronics, Tata Group, etc.
Of 14,800 students in 19 ITIs in Delhi, 10,700 students secured placements in different companies while others opted for self-employment.
Delhi government currently runs 13 co-ed and 6 women ITIs in Delhi. The 19 Delhi ITIs offer courses in 61 trades including 38 engineering trades and 23 non-engineering trades.
Sharing about the success of ITI students, technical education minister Atishi said, “The placement numbers of Delhi ITIs are the result of the Kejriwal government’s focused placement strategy for these institutes. Our commitment to providing quality technical education and ensuring robust placements has resulted in empowering students and bridging the gap between education and employment.”
Atishi added that the government has formed the Centralized Placement and Industry Outreach Cell to ensure better placement opportunities and industry exposure for ITI students. This cell has adopted a transformation strategy for placement, aiming to modernize the placement approach by focusing on academia-industry collaboration, career services, flexible learning options, entrepreneurship support, job fairs, and more.
