University of Strathclyde Glasgow invites applications for MSc Mechatronics and Automation

University of Strathclyde, Glasgow, has invited online applications for its one-year MSc Mechatronics and Automation programme starting in January 2026. Interested applicants can apply for the MSc Mechatronics and Automation courses on the official website, strath.ac.uk. The programme fee for international students is £ 31,100.

Candidates willing to apply for the MSc Mechatronics and Automation programme should have a first-class or second-class honours degree (or international equivalent) in a science or engineering discipline. Candidates should also have International English Language Testing System (IELTS) academic overall score of 6.5 with no individual band less than 5.5.

The MSc Mechatronics and Automation programme is designed for graduates from relevant disciplines who are willing to take up a career in mechatronics and automation. Additionally, working professionals who want to strengthen their theoretical knowledge and practical expertise can also apply for the programme.

MSc Mechatronics and Automation

During the MSc Mechatronics and Automation, students will have to complete a combination of compulsory classes with three optional classes and a group project. Students will also have to undertake an individual research project.

“The MSc course is designed to equip students with the skills to lead the development of mechatronic and automation products, contribute effectively as team members in product development processes, and provide specialist expertise in mechatronic systems and technologies,” the official University of Strathclyde statement said.

During the group projects, students will work with other students and an industrial client to address a practical problem. Students will gain direct industry experience to add to their CV, develop skills, manage a project, and practice working in a multidisciplinary group, which will prepare them for collaborative work throughout their future career.

A few examples of projects include Haptic Sensing & Display for Telepresence, VR and Design – an investigation and design of a simple haptic sensing and display system, Periscopic and Flexible Camera Extension – designing and building a camera or camera extension.
